Weekends -2 Years back and Now

Today when i woke up @ 10:00 am I was thinking what are my plans for the day ?
Got the answer Boss you need to get bore for the next 8 hours.
What the hell!! I was thinking why there is no office today,at least we have some task in our mind that we need to reach office. You can meet your colleagues and feel lively. Then I gave a second thought am i the same person who used to wait for one off,one leave while i was doing my internship or in initial years of my Job, when all my friends and classmates and some other pals were with me .I also started thinking what are my tasks on Monday.
I used to wait & wait for weekends and plan rest of the five days(working days) that what we gonna do this weekend. To be frank during college days of initial months of job I never got time to think what we will do this weekend .It used to get automatically planned by my pals saying -U have to be there ...this and that is the plan reach there or will be fired out of the party or Group. There were no tensions in mind @ that time...

Now when i am all set @ my job i pray ..Someone please invite me to make my weekend happening ...
When i try to find out the reason for all this change in life ....
I get the answer ...
People who were buddies have moved out of the city when i was on some official assignment to some place near to their hometown in North india.
I was little younger in Batch so some guys and gals have already started enjoying their so called happy married life (Not sure ,the word happy suits here or not ). They pose to be happy ..
People don't wanna invite bachelors like me to their family or so called Family birthday celebrations .They say I have in laws @ my place this birthday we will have a get together afterwards and the day never arrives when we have our kind of parties (hope you all are getting words).I think married men are always busy to please their wives and in laws .That scares me of marriage also :).

Now people generally leave for their hometowns on Fridays .They say they have urgent work this weekend at their place. When they return back I get update from Facebook they are Engaged or in a relationship...I thank Facebook to be a buddy and disclose their important works @ weekend..

There is Lot more there but I Need to get ready as Luckily I have Got a call to be part of some Shopping .Please pray I have a great weekend ...

First day at corporate life after MBA

I can remember the day 8 June 2009
my first day @ my first company .
For the first time I managed to reach corporate office of the company in time as i used to be always late in all my lectures .After completing MBA from SIU got placed in one of Indian MNCs.
Was excited to join the company as we have heard a lot about corporate life ...from the very first day we thought we will be managers and a bunch of ppl will start reporting to us .I felt proud by just imagining this .But when I entered with my friends in the company premises all the co workers were staring at us as some new fellow animals are entering in the Zoo. we were offered some Tea,coffee and snacks at our tables and ppl from some reputed MBA colleges attacked @ snacks like some hungry rodents who have got a sack of grain in the granary.
we met with some new people who will be our future colleagues. Most of the gentle man were showing their frustration in a usual fashion as they were not happy to see their female colleagues from other MBA colleges. They started quoting examples of ladies in some other IT companies and started cribbing on the selection procedure for gals by the company .To be frank I was also thinking on the similar lines at that point of time life but i handled myself as i got a call from my gal regarding the joining @ new company so i shifted my mind from other gals and started concentrating on her words.
She was asking questions like I have joined google and was asking lot of things about that company. She was excited as her joining was little later than me in some other company.
I also told her some fake things as i thought that she will have a bad impression regarding the company and as we all know MBA's always quote themselves high and fake things easily in front of others .

The first day lot of business heads came and explained about their department and organisation structure .No one was interested in that except a few and i was not included in that group. Some PPL who were laterals were asking question. Most of them were rubbish to make some impression in front of others.I smelt from the first three lectures that I am at a wrong place to work.It will be very difficult for me to work here as all the business heads were talking 20% Business and 80 % technology in their presentations .
I was thinking that after doing MBA also i will be doing the same thing that I was scared after engineering.Somehow I managed to open my eyes.
The HR announced that we have to report for the lunch at the terrace for in next 10 minutes.i thought atleast the company is good in Employee care and will be offering some awesome 5 star hotel Lunch for their MBA employees. Ppl started rushing and as me and my friends tried to get into the lift guard asked us to get boarded in next slot.when we reached the terrace in next slot we were surprised to see that about 90% of the batch was already there and we came to know they rushed @ terrace via stairs (9th floor).Somehow we managed to get the plates and after having a look at the lunch we analysed there was not much difference in the lunch provided by our college Mess as we saw the same MESS here also.

After grabbing some quick bytes we were in a mood to have a power Nap like (BOMEN Irani in 3 idiots)but all in vain as some more business Heads were waiting to eat our heads. After lunch we were struggling to listen to some of the old and experienced personalities in the industry.we were told that we have a restriction to complete 8 hrs in the company otherwise it will be a half day for us .so we were supposed to put our Bums on the cushioned chair ...I waited and opened my eyes with all my strength and nodded my head in a fashion that i am the only one in the company business strategy and wanted to take company to newer horizons.
I also asked one or two questions i the afternoon session so that it looks i m awake and interested.Everyone was looking at me after my question as i have asked the business head regarding his extramarital affair.I kept my mouth shut after these questions..
After all this I only heard the HR announcement that we are done for the day ...I felt the same when i was in first class used to wait for the closing bell .I was feeling very relaxed.Everyone was discussing regarding the company and the role we will be offered in the company .
I was least interested in all these talks .While leaving the conference hall I only asked one question personally to the HR ":when we are planning to have Pay & compensation session.
After all this i wanted to spend some quality time with my ..........
I gave her a call and planned to meet at our favorite place. She was very excited to know about the company and all that happened @ first day.I was least interested in all that but I was confident that it will be easier for me to manager her than these first day sessions.I told all my mates who were leaving that i wont be able to join them dinner and will have the same with one of my relative who is coming to visit me today. Finally the day ended and as i managed the later hours in a better condition than the first day session in the company.

I will never forget this day in my life as this was my first day of corporate life after MBA.After 2 years in the industry I can still remember the first day and the memories seems very much fresh .I got the inspiration to share all this from some of our first day pics posted in my friends facebook Albums.
Things have changed a lot in the last 2 years .Now the one who was interested to listen to my first day experience is not there and many more .......

Evaluation Criteria for Open Source ERP

Evaluation Criteria for Open Source ERP
1.Customization Complexity- No matter how comprehensive an ERP solution is,customizing the software is inevitable. Open source ERP solutions are particularly easy to customize, since the source code is freely available. Also, these solutions are written in popular, widely used computer languages such as PHP and Java.It is also important to evaluate how easily customized code is migrated during software upgrades.
2.Functionality - All ERP packages are expected to support core business process. For example, creating customer, vendor and products master records, maintaining customer orders and sending invoices are integral parts of ERP systems. Besides core processes, ERP solutions vary widely. One ERP solution might be very good at managing manufacturing operations, while another one will have a robust accounting module. It is vital to identify the unique strength of each open source ERP solution and decide which one fits your business requirements best.
3.User Experience - Although many older ERP solutions do not pride themselves in their user experience, modern technologies make it much easier to build pleasant user interfaces, making it easy for users finding information and connecting it to the business process they are managing in the ERP information system. User interfaces should be clean, clear, intuitive, offer context-based help, enabling users to be as efficient as possible in their daily tasks.
4.Development Activity - Unfortunately, many open source projects do not last many years. That is true,of course, for non open-source software as well-smaller software companies are bought and products are discontinued, software vendors go bankrupt and support and maintenance companies discontinue operations. The good news is,since the products are open source, the source code is available and you can continue developing the product to fit your specific needs even if the official development of the project stopped. However, in any given open source project, developers activity might vary over time, effecting rate of bug fixes and new features development. It’s important to consider the development activity in the months prior to the time the decision about the open source ERP solution is made.
5.Knowledge - A key succes factor in any kind of information system implementation is knowledge around the product. Too often, great software products are not successful because there are not enough professionals who know how to implement the product. That is especially true for ERP implementations - the complexity of the project and the varying requirements from one project to another requires strong knowledge of the ERP software being implemented.New open source ERP solutions do not always have enough experienced consultants that can help customers bring out the highest possible Return On Investment.
6.Production-readiness - We use the term production readiness as a placeholder for a set of requirements that has nothing to do with functionality, but are of equal importance to any business software -performance,ability to scale to large numbers of records, high availability options, recovery procedures in case of system or database crash, security features, user management and access control. These are often the factors that differentiate mature open source ERP solutions from others. Production readiness is commonly overlooked, especially by small and medium companies, since the volume of transactions and data stored in the ERP system is relatively small.Hopefully, an ERP system will help the business grow to a point where this issues will rise - suddenly, creating a new customer orders or displaying an inventory report takes 10 seconds instead of 1 second, system availability is not 100% or the system shuts down because the database is full. You must consider early on future growth rates, allowed downtimes, cost of lost data etc.
7.Integration - Every ERP project requires integration. The open source ERP solution you will use will need to communicate with other software systems - mail servers, spreadsheets, your vendors’ ordering system, your shipping companies’ software. In commercial ERP solutions, the integration is handled by middleware - usually a huge bundle of software components that manage that integration. An open source ERP can never provide that level of integration support. What it can do is use standards which are supported by other software vendors to enable painless integration. For example, using XML files to import and export data such as customer and product records is the de-facto standard in data exchange. Exposing functionality as web services and being able to consume web services from other systems is also becoming increasingly popular.
8.Migration - The first step of most ERP projects is migration. For large ERP implementations, that step can take months if not years. For smaller companies implementing open source ERP solutions, the amount and complexity of data to migrate from older systems to the new ERP system is much smaller. Still, a poor migration can bring an ERP project to failure. Open source ERP solutions should provide a flexible migration component, allowing import of data from multiple sources(text files, csv, excel files, database files),a validation layer, acting as a gatekeeper, stopping low quality data from entering the new system and an exception reporting tool.
9.T.C.O.- Open source is free.Well, not always. Almost all open source products are free to download and use,but some some are not. Also, most are free to download and use-you will still need to customize the software and require some consulting services. There is a long debate between supporters of open source software and commercial software vendors over the question “How much does a free, open source software, actually costs”. You can be sure of one thing - you will save a lot of money on licensing the software itself, money you can invest in customization, consulting, support and maintenance.
10.Community - The open source movement is all about community.A group of people working night and day, spanning multiple time zones, writing large amounts of great code, without being paid! It sounds crazy, but it’s true. All successful open source projects have one thing in common - a thriving, diverse community, supplying everything required to support wide adoption of software-not only development but also documentation, bug reporting and support forums. The larger the community, the higher chances of success for an open source project.

electronic hard ware development

INDIA IS THE MOST POPULOUS COUNTRY AND AROUND 40% OF THE POPULATION IS USING THE HARDWARE DAILY.BUT I WANT TO LET U KNOW THAT THE COUNTRY IS INPORTING MOST OF THE ELECTRONIC HARDWARE FROM COUNTRIES FROM CHINA & JAPAN .THE COUNTRY IS HAVING VERY FEW HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT PLANTS IN THE COUNTRY.THATS THE MOST SHAMEFUL THING 4 US.AND U WILL B SHOCKED TO KNOW THAT INDIA IS PRODUCING MORE THAN 1 LAKH ELECTRONICS ENGG. PER YEAR,THE DATA MAY BE MUCH MORE THAN THAT .

OTHER DILLEMA IS THAT INDIANS ARE PLAYING A BIG ROLE IN HARDWARE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT BUT NOT 4 OUR COUNTRY 4 OTHER COUNTRIES.COMMENT FOR THAT PROBLEM AND ITS SOLUTIONS.
